Production Design idea (props)

  1. Hey Jess - I'd like to see you imposing a bit more 'style' on the things in your world - as opposed to drawing things; it's not that there's anything horrible about what you've drawn, but as you're prepping for an animated short, you might want to think of pushing things a little more: some examples of 'art for animation' that might show you what I mean :)

You might want to think about using some of the 'simple' tools in Photoshop to help you achieve some strong styles - the polygon tool or the custom shape tool - or maybe Illustrator, if you think back to the exercises with Simon when your classmates created their own 'alien' drawing. Give it a go - but also, do lots of look at 'animation backgrounds' as a Google search, and then also 'UPA animation character design' as a search too - you'll see just how big, bold and graphical you can be when it comes to visualising for animation :)
