I have had an idea of the classroom being the first scene before everything happens so that the audience know that it is set in a primary school.
This is the playground scene im not sure on it yet and I will try some different props and colours as i want it to look like a British playground not a park.
Hey Jess - take a look at these backgrounds too - I think you can also introduce some additional 'textures' to bring a bit more interest to your stylised worlds:

I do think you need to create some more versions of these scenes - just to push them on a bit further - I think you need to stylise your trees/shrubs even further for example - more distinct shapes and more pleasing shapes. I LOVE the bold colour choices in your classroom - it's working - but if you look at the examples I've included, you'll see how you can introduce tonal shades and accent colours to lend a bit of additional interest :)
