  1. Character Design Feedback

It has been good to see your designs come together over this project and i think you have designed a very appealing character. I think your gasp of three dimensional drawing has really brought the character to life, both with the expression and gesture sheets and I particularly like the detailing of the long sleeves and large ears. They add a sense of vulnerability to the character which balances very well with his plucky determination. I think, however that you may want to develop him a little regarding his absence of mouth. Its clear this character is going to have something to say, so without it he is prevented fritter doing so. It would also have been good to see one of the faceless figures developed as a possible antagonist or ally, to help drive the narrative.

You environments, in comparison, could do with being more defined. The are atmospheric and clear enough to set the scene but lack any real detail. Consequently your character doesn's integrate within the environment making the storytelling less clear. The storyboard, although ambitious, lacks the same clarity and so the result is somewhat muddled, which is a great shame considering the potential of the story.

Overall, then, I think its clear you are capable of creating interesting characters, but more work needs to be done to bring clarity to your narrative, particularly with the environments. I think it is worth refining these images in the future because a potential client would struggle to read what you are trying to achieve, as it stands. Note: Try to get your spelling checked. - JW
