Hi Jess for your idea with this script screen project this might be something to think about, the whole reason that the pirate is in a temple is that he found a map that leads to a mystical item the cactus, the cactus could have mystical powers which can heal the sick may be and the reason behind getting this item may be to save a family member old love of his life depending on what is the pirate going to be and the temple was booby-trapped so has to go through so many obstacles to try and get this mystical cactus
These seem like some quite good ideas to have. Obviously the temple and cactus can relate as to me when I think of temple i assume it's a desert temple (maybe from playing games too much) and obviously cactuses are indigenous to deserts. How to tie the pirate into that I'm not too sure it just makes me think of the scene from Pirates of the carribean where Jack Sparrow is sailing a boat through sand which is actually purgatory I think? It might be worth watching that and seeing if you can find anything else that could relate to these words.
